When you create an account, we collect the email address and the information provided by Clerk (our authentication provider) for the account holder (parent). When the account holder adds users (family members) to their account, we collect that person's email address for the purpose of managing their access to the extension. We do not store passwords.
Our Chrome extension reads the transcript of each YouTube video you watch while the extension is active and sends it to our servers for analysis. If harmful content is detected, the result is recorded to your account. We do not record your browsing history outside of YouTube videos analyzed by the extension.
The extension stores an authentication token locally on your device (in Chrome's local storage) to keep you signed in. This token is sent to our servers with each analysis request to verify your identity. It is not shared with any third party.
We track usage metrics (number of analyses) and performance data (how long each analysis step takes) to improve the service and detect issues.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
If you delete your account, we will anonymize your personal information (email address and display name) within 30 days. Aggregated usage data and video analysis results may be retained for service improvement purposes.
To request deletion of your account and data, contact us directly at support@jibproject.com.
Jib accounts are intended for parents and guardians. Account holders use the service to monitor the YouTube viewing activity of their children. The child does not create an account or provide any information directly to Jib. Data about viewing activity is collected on behalf of the account holder and is only accessible to them.
